OpenStudy (ptvrazz):

Which ordered pair is the solution to the system of equations? x-4y=6 3x+y=-8 A. (2, −1) B. (1, −9) C. (−2, −2) D. (−6, −3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ptvrazz for x-4y=6 you divide negative -4y by positive 4 and 6 divided by positive 4 which cancels out the -4 and leaves you with y and on the other side you have 6 divided by 4 which is 1.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see where i am going with this? and then 1.5 will be your x but hold on i dont see that in the choices so i must be doing something wrong here

OpenStudy (ptvrazz):

yeah 1/5 isnt in the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well ik but do you know how to solve the question?

OpenStudy (ptvrazz):

no thats why i came here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well let me draw it for you so you can understand, your a visual learner right?

OpenStudy (ptvrazz):

i understand but why isnt 1.5 in the answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i could be wrong
