Why does water heat up and cool down slowly? a.Water has a low heat of vaporization b.Water has a variable thermal potential c.Water has a high specific heat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thinks its b

OpenStudy (rushwr):

Nop ! That's not the answer !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My only other guess would be a

OpenStudy (rushwr):

The answer is C Specific heat capacity is the amount of heat per unit mass required to raise the temperature by one degree Celsius. The relationship between heat and temperature change is usually expressed in the form shown below where c is the specific heat. Since it has a high specific heat capacity it can absorb lot of heat and also has the ability to release heat slowly

Thank you so much I understand it now

OpenStudy (rushwr):

NO problem :) Have a nice day
