Add the whole numbers first 3+15+1/10 Find the Least Common Denominator (LCD) of 15,110 Method 1: By Listing Multiples List out all multiples of each denominator, and find the first common one. 5 : 5,10 10 : 10 Therefore, the LCD is 10 Method 2: By Prime Factors List all prime factors of each denominator, and find the union of these primes. 5 : 5 10 : 2,5 Therefore, the LCD is 2×5=10 Make the denominators the same as the LCD 3+ 1×2 /5×2+1 /10 Simplify. Denominators are now the same 3+/210+1/10 Join the denominators 3 +2+1/10 Simplify 3 3/10 <---- is what you would get after you simplify
