Hi I am new but i need help on history but hear is my question: Which of the following is an effect of the French and Indian War on Great Britain?
Welcome. You didn't list choices but here is an explanation. The French and Indian war is what we call a small part of the Seven Year War between France and England. France and England spent about 1,000 years fighting of and on, so this was just the latest thing. When the war was over, France was kicked out of Canada and North America east of the Mississippi River. They also had a huge war debt. The Brits figured it was reasonable to make the North American colonies help pay for defending them and all the new territory. So they started to tax the colonies. The taxes were met with "No taxation without representation." And you may have heard about what happened next.
sorry let me add them Britain's wealth grew quickly because of the new territory. Britain encouraged settlers to move to Florida and New Orleans. Britain encouraged settlers to move west of the Appalachian Mountains. Britain's debt from the war caused higher taxes for the American colonists.
but your help was helpful thanks
Hope you figured out the answer is D. And Welcome to OS
