In class we are reading the once and future king. We have to write a short fable where merlyn has changed Arthur into an animal and learn a lesson. Sounds easy right?

Im not asking for someone to write me a fable, im asking for ideas. I cant think of any animals that aren't already in the book that could teach Arthur a lesson, and that's not all, I don't even know how to begin the fable. My teacher handed out no examples or work sheets either sadly.

Basically, I need ideas of lessons animals can teach and maybe just a beginning sentence starter, if possible.

maybe you should do this fable The once was this princess one day she was pushed to marry some prince she refused but one day a fine prince gave her a ring and she took it and swallowed it. Later that day she walked into the woods and this old woman asked her to get some water from the well for her. The princess replied " I will never do anything for you, you old hag!" and the old woman snapped her fingers and turned her into a warthog. When the men of the castle saw the warthog they killed it. The butcher cut open the pig and the ring that the princess swallowed was in the warthogs stomach, the butcher took it and placed it on her finger. The End
