Help simplifying radicals with variables

OpenStudy (-welp-):

\[\sqrt{90xy ^{6}}\]

OpenStudy (-welp-):

My work: \[\sqrt{90xy ^{6}} = \sqrt{5} * \sqrt{18} * \sqrt{x} * idk\]

OpenStudy (welshfella):

sqrt90 = sqrt9 * sqrt10 = 3 sqrt10

OpenStudy (welshfella):

x^3 * x^3 = x^6

OpenStudy (welshfella):

so the square rot of x^6 = ?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

i struggle with the equation editor!!

OpenStudy (-welp-):

\[\sqrt{90xy ^{6}}= \sqrt{9} * \sqrt{10} \sqrt{x} *\sqrt{y ^{6}}\] \[= 3 * \sqrt{10} * \sqrt{x} * y ^{3}\] = \[3y ^{3}\sqrt{10x}\]

OpenStudy (-welp-):

I'm supposed to show my work. Is this right?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

yes that is correct

OpenStudy (welshfella):

good job

OpenStudy (welshfella):

to find the square root of x^6 we could also write it as an exponent square root = ^1.2 (x^6)^(½) = x^(6* ½) = x^3

OpenStudy (welshfella):

* typo square root = ^ 1/2
