Question 4 (4.04)
(04.04 HC) It is recommended that you work this out on graph paper to help answer the questions. Sean plots the locations of 4 places on a coordinate grid as given below (It is recommended that you work this out on graph paper to help answer the questions.): His house is at (−4, 5). His school is at (−4, 3). The community center is at (6, 3). The grocery store is at (−4, −9). Part A: Use absolute values to calculate the distance in units from Sean's house to his school. Show your work. (4 points) Part B: Is the total distance from Sean's house to the school to the grocery store greater than the total distance from Sean's house to the school to the community center? Justify your answer. (6 points)

I'm not sure

noice OWO
?
sorry im used to saying that i mean nice :)
can anyone help
Well, A is just 2. Not sure how to use absolute values to do it, but its just 2 units away. They're on the same x value so the only thing you need to do is count the y-distance. 5-3 = ? B. For the first part, house -> school -> store is again just adding y distances. |5 - 3| + |3 - (-9)| = ? And for the second part. house -> school -> community(this time school and community are on same y axis so just add the distance in x distance) |5 - 3| + |(-4) - 6| = ? Conclusion: ?
