Please explain how to do it too. Don't just tell me the answer thanks!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok. the formula to find the area of a pentagon is A= 5/2 *s*a where s is the side of the pentagon, and a is the apothem length
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so plug in the side and the apothem length to the formula
OpenStudy (lilblister):
200?

A= 5/2 *10 * 8 = 200?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
No. you forgot to multiply the apothem length as well and then divide by two :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so it's 5*10*8/ 2
OpenStudy (lilblister):
im confused why theres a 10 and 2 tho?
OpenStudy (lilblister):
Thanks for you help btw :D

Because the original formula is 5/2 * s* a and actually you got it right lol it is 200
OpenStudy (lilblister):
Ok cool so the answer is just 200?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you can multiply using either the numerator or the denominator, you'll get the same result
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yup!
OpenStudy (lilblister):
Ok gotcha. So A=200?
