tell whether the lines for each pair of equations are parallel, perpendicular or neither y=-4x + 3 -2x+8y=5 Please help!

OpenStudy (kurayami95):

my first idea is to convert -2x+8y=5 to a slope intercept form equation

OpenStudy (lυἶცἶ0210):

Start by getting the lines in slope-intercept form \(\large y=mx+b \) Then look at the slope \(\large \color{red}{m} \)

OpenStudy (kurayami95):

yea~ xD that was my idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i do not know how to do that

OpenStudy (lυἶცἶ0210):

If the slopes are identical, then they are parallel. If the slopes are negative reciprocals of each other, then they are perpendicular.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so all i have to do is find the slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks bye

lol I'm taking flvs and I just talked to my math teacher and the password for 4.00 was slope xD
