OpenStudy (r.hamza17):

Question?

OpenStudy (needhelpp101):

Sorry for bad drawing lol

OpenStudy (r.hamza17):

First of all solve both the mixed fractions into imroper fractions

OpenStudy (needhelpp101):

how do you do that? : / I'm still learning this :(

OpenStudy (r.hamza17):

For converting a proper fraction into improper one you multiply the denominator with the whole number and than add them to the numerator...Like, \[5\frac{ 1 }{ 3 }=\frac{ 16 }{ 3 }\]

OpenStudy (r.hamza17):

Similarly solve the second one and than add the both of them

OpenStudy (r.hamza17):

As you see there is a negative sign with 3 which will make the difference thats why you are getting the wrong answer
