Calculus help!

OpenStudy (cassieforlife5):

We're learning differentiation in this chapter but I don't know what the question is asking.

OpenStudy (freckles):

\[\lim_{h \rightarrow 0} \frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h} =f'(x)\]

OpenStudy (freckles):

do you know this?

OpenStudy (cassieforlife5):

yes i remember learning it

OpenStudy (freckles):

can you identify from this what f(x) is in your problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@freckles To be fair, the notation with the exponent can be somewhat ambiguous...

OpenStudy (cassieforlife5):

\[f(x)=\cos x ^{7}\]

OpenStudy (cassieforlife5):

oh so I find the derivative of that.. thanks!
