Write a polynomial function of minimum degree with real coefficients whose zeros are 4, -8, and 2 + 5. Write the polynomial in standard form. I am severely lost on this question and would appreciate some help

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well there are 4 different real zeros... so that means that your polynomial will be degree 4. so looking at the 1st zero x = 4 then (x - 4) is a factor so repeat the process to find the other 3 factors. Then all you will need to do is multiply the factors together.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The other 3 factors are (x+8), (x-2) and (x-5), right?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

good so P(x) = (x -4)(x+8)(x-2)(x-5) now just distribute
