Biotechnology, through old methods and new methods, biotechnology has been used to increase yield size, resistance to pathogens and also improve nutritional value(example = golden rice, a GM rice which as was developed in India to reduce Vitamin A deficiency related problems).

Hope this helps, there are many other fields too :) Botany is another example.
