I need help understanding the End Behavior of Polynomial Functions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1452868328008:dw| This follows the function.... f(x) = 3x^2 + 8x - 9x^5 -9x^5 is the one it shows because it has the largest exponent Odd because the degree of 5 and negative because of...well...the negative sign I get how to label it and classify it. I can study the drawings so I now how to do it on the quiz. But what I DONʻT GET is the End Behavior. It says that the end behavior for this is \[x \rightarrow \infty , y \rightarrow -\infty \] \[x \rightarrow -\infty , y \rightarrow \infty \]
