What is 193.492 rounded to the nearest hundredth?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 193.49

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

after 49 what number come - because you need round it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9 stays the same you don't have to put that last 0

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so when you need round a number to the nearest hundred so like 0,492 so this will be 0,50 - yes ?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

to round to the nearest hundredth means to 2 decimal places. look at the 3rd decimal place if 5 or more add one to the digit of the 2nd decimal place. if the 3rd decimal place digit is less than 5 just drop it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so in this case 193.492 round to the nearest hundredths makes it 193.490 but you drop the 0 at the end to being the answer of 193.49 right?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

to round always go one place more than the required then check the limit <5 or >5

OpenStudy (triciaal):

you don't have to put the 0 you have 2 in the 3rd place and 2 is less than 5 so drop

OpenStudy (triciaal):

yes 193.49

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks I have 3 more problems
