Pick all that apply that describe homologs. 1. Are chromosomes that carry the same type of genes 2. Are chromosomes that have the centromere in the same place 3. Are chromosomes that belong to the same person 4. Are chromosomes that are the same length

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I though it might be numbers 3,4

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

I totally agree that 4 is one of the answers, but I'm not so sure about 3. I don't think homologous chromosomes have to be from the same person as one chromosome is from the father and one from the mother. However, these homologous chromosomes do have to have the same genes as each other because if they are the same length then that means they are the same number chromosome (ex. Chromosome 5). Which means that they are both in charge of the same bodily functions therefore having the same genes.
