HELP!!!!!!!!! Tony has $60 to buy sovenirs for his grandkids at the baseball game pennants cost $7.50 and hats cost $11.99 This relationship can be represented by the inequality 7.5p+11.99h≤60 Three of tony's kids wants hats. Which inequality represents how many pennants he can buy? A. p≤3.204 B. 0≤P≤3 C. P≤3 D. 0≤P≤3.204

OpenStudy (hennawho):

ok so if 3 of the kids want hats, you are doing 7.5p+11.99(3) is less than or equal to 60 You have to replace h with 3 bc u r buying 3 hats. If you solve that, you have 7.5p+35.97 is less than or equal to 60 Then you solve it like an equation. So u subtract 35.97 from each side to get 7.5p is less than or equal to 24.03 Then you solve for p by dividing by 7.5 on each side to be p is less than or equal to 3.204 However, you can't buy .204 of a pennant, so u have to round it down to 3. So u have p is less than or equal to 3 But from that equation, p can be -100, bc its less that 3, but it really can't bc u can't have negative amount of items. So u would have to change the equation to 0<=P<=3

so the answer is B

Thanks! @hennawho
