Atsie (atsie):

Nature is a good theme for any poem. There are so many metaphors that you can come up with, just by watching birds, and squirrels, and how they interact with each other. These animals don't have souls, but they can sometimes show actions of love towards each other. This is distinctly similar to us humans. We can do the same. There are also sentimental aspects of nature that you could explore. Like the wind. Sometimes the skies are sad. Sometimes its gloomy...etc, etc. You also have yourself. You can explore who you are as a person through poetry. Your heart, personal feelings, and emotions. Maybe you took a trip recently. What did you see? What did you like/hate the most? Got a crush? Slam it on paper! In love? Write a Love story via poem. Life is full of things. Its a never ending tale to write about. And a personal tip from me is to let yourself go everytime you write. If you hold back and focus on EVERY little word and hyperventilate because you don't get it to sound the way you want to, it'll destroy the original beauty of what it was when it was first written. I have a bad habit of this myself, which is why I say it. :)

Ooohhh, some people have some really good ideas. I have some "out of the box" ideas. You could write about not being in love or never experiencing that kind of feeling, write about the things you dislike about nature, write about an important object of yours. Of course, it shouldn't sound like you're writing about an object though. I don't know, just some suggestions.

candycove (candycove):
