Hello! I can help yoi.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can use the law of sine.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since sine equals opposite over hypotenuse, then sin60 = x/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then, you'd go on your calculator and find that sin60 is 0.866

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, 0.866 = x/8 Multiply 8 by both sides. 6.928 = x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is 7 an answer choice?

OpenStudy (priyar):

a simpler way is: use cos60=x/8 (since its a right angled triangle)

OpenStudy (priyar):

@kawaiidayna i think u have made a mistake..x is the adjacent side..

OpenStudy (priyar):

HINT : cos 60 = 1/2
