Sailin' Steve likes to test the buoyancy of different objects. He threw a spherical object into a fluid that has a greater density than the object does. He also threw a square object into the fluid that has a greater density than the fluid. Predict which object will float best.

OpenStudy (farcher):

Spherical object floats because the fluid density is larger than the object density. The square object could be made ti float if it was shaped like a boat but if it was just a square lamina it would sink.
