How do you find the product of the pair of monomials (xy,to the 2nd power),(-xy)to the 3rd power.....

OpenStudy (danjs):

\[\large (x*y)^2*(-x*y)^3\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

\[\large (x*y)^2*(-1)^3*(x*y)^3\] that negative is like a constant number, -1, you can do that, and now you have five xy multiplied together

OpenStudy (danjs):

\[\large-1*(x*y)^{2+3} = -(xy)^5\]

Thanks DanJS I really appreciate that now I know what to do.
