OpenStudy (freckles):
hi
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hi
OpenStudy (freckles):
let p represent the price of a single pretzel
and d represent the price of a single drink
one sentence says someone spent 3*d dollars and 3*p dollars for a total of 9 dollars.
In equation form that looks like, 3d+3p=9
you can setup another equation using the other sentence.
you will end up with a system of equations to solve.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
how can solve that?

OpenStudy (freckles):
did you get the other equation yet using the other sentence?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no i dont know how to solve it
OpenStudy (freckles):
so you don't see how from the first sentence I got 3d+3p=9?
OpenStudy (freckles):
the second equation can be found from the 2nd sentence
OpenStudy (freckles):
4 drinks+2 pretzels=8.5 is what the second sentence says...

OpenStudy (freckles):
4d+2p=8.5
3d+3p=9
is the system you need to solve
OpenStudy (anonymous):
d
1.25
and
p
1.75
OpenStudy (freckles):
right
so you have found both the price of a single pretzel and the price of a single drink
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so how can i type that
OpenStudy (freckles):
what do you mean exactly?
