Which answer best describes how the Patriots viewed being taxed by the British? The Patriots felt they should only pay income taxes. The Patriots felt they should pay taxes to the British. People in British Colonial America were used to paying taxes to their elected colonial governments. The idea of paying a direct tax they had not voted on was new and shocking to them
