OpenStudy (ondinana):

Can someone help me work out a "three point" word problem real quick? Will fan and medal if not fanned already!! Here's the question: The perimeter of a rectangle is less than 70 ft. The length of the rectangle is 5 ft longer than its width. A) Write an equation representing the length (L = length) of the rectangle in terms of Its width. *Will post B and C in replies!*

OpenStudy (ondinana):

B) The formula for perimeter of a rectangle is 2W + 2L = P W is the width, L is the length, and P is the perimeter. Write an inequality using the formula (plug in the value of L found in part a, the value of P, and replace the equal sign with the appropriate inequality symbol).

OpenStudy (ondinana):

C) Simplify the inequality to find the width of the rectangle.
