I was doing some practice question and I came across this can someone teach how I would get x?

OpenStudy (ibrafacts):

Question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the last side equal to? its hard to read

OpenStudy (ibrafacts):

i wrote 26 its not part of it

OpenStudy (ibrafacts):

i thinkx is 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so what you would do is set up a proportion with one of the sides and the base. so we would have x/ 26 = 1/2 ( the 1/2 is because we know that the small triangle inside is half the length of the side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya you are correct its 13.

OpenStudy (ibrafacts):

oh okay thank you for explaining it:)

OpenStudy (ibrafacts):

i have na other question would u mind helping me out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya no problem it took me a few mins to understand the problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya go for it

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Please post your next problem separately from this one. Thanks.

OpenStudy (ibrafacts):
