Find the inverse of the function y=3x-8 a y=8-3x b y=3/x+8/3 c y=1/3x-8 d y=x+8/3

OpenStudy (danjs):

if it exists, graphically it is the given equation reflected over the line Y=X, if possible. in that , you can change the Y and the X around, then solve for the Y again, and that will be an inverse, if it is there

OpenStudy (jjuden):

i did that but the answer i got wasnt right

OpenStudy (danjs):

x = 3y - 8 [x+8]/3 = y D would be the one, if it had brackets grouping the numerator

OpenStudy (jjuden):

thank you for explaining and helping me :)

OpenStudy (danjs):

welcome
