OpenStudy (lina17):

-13>-5x+2>-28 step by step please

OpenStudy (danjs):

you can think of that as 2 inequalities -13 > -5x + 2 and -5x+2 > -28 and solve each for the x

OpenStudy (danjs):

or, keep it like it is, and do the same things to all 3 parts, for instance subtract 2 from each one, the point is to get x by itself -13 - 2 > -5x + 2 - 2 > -28 - 2 -15 > -5x > -30

OpenStudy (lina17):

if you subtract 2 from each one wouldnt you get -11>5x and _5x>-26 ? @DanJS

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@lina17 so with this ,,subtract 2" @DanJS wan saying to you adding to both sides (minus 2) so than will get -13+(-2)=-15 and not -11 how you have wrote above and on the other side the same too so -28 +(-2) = -30 and not -26 - do you understand it now ? hope so much that these wrote above will be very helpfully to you ,to understanding right this way to solve same inequality ok. ?
