90 • 4 – 14 ÷ 2 + 10^2 ÷ 5 • 2
Remember "PEMDAS" rules, otherwise known as "order of operations" rules? In this case, you MUST multiply and divide before adding and subtracting. Please show your work.
P - Parentheses E - Exponents M - Multiplication D - Division A - Addition S - Subtraction So first, you would do any operations in parentheses. As there are none we move to exponents. Can you do that and post the updated problem?
\[90 * 4 - 14 \div 2 + 10^2 \div 5 * 2\]
90 x 4 -14 /2 + 10^2 / 5 x 2 90 x 4 - 14 /2 + 100 /5 x 2 360 - 14 / 2 + 100 / 5 x 2 360 - 7 + 100 / 5 x 2 360 - 7 + 20 x 2 360 - 7 + 40 353 + 40 393
That is correct.
Just remember to do all multiplication and division before any addition or subtraction. (You did, it is just an important rule.)
Impressive how well you (count) applied and followed those rules. Keep up the good work!
