round this number to the nearest whole number 365,986.091

OpenStudy (redstealth29):

What do you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so 365,986.091. Do you know how you would round it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how to round

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay that's fine. So you would look at the .091. Mainly the tens place, where the zero is. To round up, the number would need to be 5 or higher. Is this 5 or higher? P.S. Sorry if I'm making you feel childish.

OpenStudy (redstealth29):

well first off rounding is just adding or subtracting to the closest number that is around your given number. Do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the number is below 5, you would round it, you'd basically just take off the numbers after the decimal point.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldn't round it*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's okay i am not much a math person

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol okay. Just let us know if you don't understand anything.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you understand how the rounding process works or no?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i will

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1453396885501:dw| Okay so it is below 5, so you wouldn't round it up to make the number 365, 987. You would just get rid of the .091. Understand?
