pls help ill medal Which is an example of a relative dating method? A. determining the order of rock layers in a canyon B. identifying the fossils in a layer of rock C. determining the types of rocks in rock layers of a canyon D. using radioisotopes to determine the age of a rock layer
pls help
?
Right off the bat, I think I would say D, but I think the question wants to know how you would date a rock BEFORE we were able to do that. Maybe C, different rocks form and age at different rates and under different circumstances...
so which one? D or C
Hold on a moment....
i rlly need to pass this test
rainbow? do you have an answer?
http://sciencelearn.org.nz/Contexts/Dating-the-Past/Science-Ideas-and-Concepts/Relative-dating & http://www.nature.com/scitable/knowledge/library/dating-rocks-and-fossils-using-geologic-methods-107924044 Look at those. I think they might help you...
ok
those just confuse me
hold on I think I know the answer it should be B
sure?
That would make sense....
im pretty sure because I googled it up and it said b
so is it B, C, or D?
i would say b
I say B. If you are able to identify the fossils in a rock, you would be able to tell when the lived - therefore you would know how old the rock layer is.
b is the answer
ok thx
you both helped wich 1 should i medal?
Give it to daisyrainbowmist. They got the answer before I did.
can you guys help me with 1 more?
I can try! :D
sure
ok
im bored anyways
Which rock layer is the newest and why? Geologic History Unit Assessment, Part 2 Supai Group because it is a middle layer A. Kaibab Limestone because it is the topmost layer B. Hermit Shale because shale is the oldest type of rock C. Tapeats Sandstone because it is the bottom layer D.
Well, the newest layer would be the one on top, because it was put down last. Does that make sense? I think the answer is A. What do you say daisyrainbowmist?
so im pretty confused on this 1
oh ya your right
I hope that helps you!
