A metal alloy weighing 3 mg and containing 50% copper is melted and mixed with 9 mg of a different alloy which contains 10% copper. What percent of the resulting alloy is copper?

OpenStudy (nottim):

Should ask this in chemistry, not math.

OpenStudy (nottim):

but what ahveyou done for question 1?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

1. 3 ml of a 66% acid solution was mixed with 8 ml of water. Find the concentration of the new mixture. Add the water 3 ml * (34% Water) + 8 ml (100% Water) = 11 ml (X% Water) Or Add the Acid 3 ml * (66% Acid) + 8 ml (0% Acid) = 11 ml (Y% Acid) That's all.

OpenStudy (ilovemath14):

why in Chemistry @NotTim

OpenStudy (nottim):

i thought it was chem

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

OpenStudy (tkhunny):
