Solve the system by substitution!
2.5x-3y=-13 3.25-y=-14
Do you mean 3,.25x?
Solve the last equation: y=17.25 Next, plug it in, 2.5x-51.75=-13 then add 2.5x=38.75 and simplify 5x=77.5 and x=15.5
Thank you so much you have no idea
yes 3.25x
@zakiullah
In that case my answer is wrong...
Okay, can you guys show me this with steps
so i can understand
In that case, isolate for one variable. Say y. thensub that for y into the other equation.
can you show me how to do it? im really in need of some help here
3.5x-2y=-14 y=3.5x+14
Plug the y back in; you will get -3.5x=14 and so x=-4
is that all i have to do? Like z did up there ^
@hodori0719 really need your help here
@NotTim
They all really showed the most amount of steps I feel.
Yes but is that it? that all i have to do?
Yes.
3.5x-2y=-14 y=3.5x+14 ?
Solve the system, solve for X. Yup.
im confused so is that my answer?
which would i solve for x?
He already explained. Solving for the system, here, is solving for x.
Let me show you full steps
2.5x-3y=-13 equation 1 3.25x-y=-14 equation 2 Isolate for equation 1 or 2 and find any of the variables. So I'll just do equation 2 and isolate for y 3.25x-y=-14 3.25x+14=y Now that we isolate for a variable we sub it into the other equation that we have... 2.5x-3(3.25x+14)=-13 Solve for x 2.5x-9.75x-42=-13 -7.25x=-13+42 -7.25x=29 x=-4 Now that we have the value for x we can just sub this value into the isolated version of y and find the value of y 3.25(-4)+14=y y=1
