Please Help Me.. will give medal A ball is thrown straight into the air from 80 feet above ground level with an initial velocity of 40 feet per second. Give answers correct to the nearest hundredth. Determine the maximum height of the ball and when the maximum height occurs. Explain how you used your graphing calculator to find the answer.

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

your function for the height is \[h(t)=-16t^2+40t+80\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

that maximum is at the vertex find it by \(t=-\frac{b}{2a}\) in your case \(a=-16,b=40\)
