Tony has completed 13 problems, and Christi has completed 7 problems. Tony is completing 8 problems per hour, and Christi is completing 10 problems per hour. After how many hours will Tony and Christi have completed the same number of problems?

OpenStudy (yureiotaku):

Ok, so I'm gonna work this out with you.

OpenStudy (yureiotaku):

Tony already completed 13 problems and Christi already completed 7.

OpenStudy (yureiotaku):

Lets say the first hour. You have to add 8 to 13 for Tony and 10 to 7 for Christi. How much do each of them have in total.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tony has 21 and Christi has 17.

OpenStudy (yureiotaku):

Now repeat for the second hour add 8 for Tony and 10 for Christi.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

29 and 27

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then 37 and 37

OpenStudy (yureiotaku):

now repeat the process

OpenStudy (yureiotaku):

there you go

OpenStudy (yureiotaku):

Now you know how to do that type of problem, I hope I helped.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much, I don't know why that was confusing for me :)

OpenStudy (yureiotaku):

You are welcome, have a good day.
