SORRY for asking this question but i really am trying to study but i cant because i am getting distracted: Please help i need to be able to lock my room door so my annoying brother sisters dont get in there and mess my things up!! please think of things i would find at home to lock my door. there's no key hole or anything so i cant use a key to lock it. Locking it from the outside is more important than inside.

i don't know i mean i haven't got a key hole either but still no one comes in

OpenStudy (13ziar):

well you're lucky

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could take a chair and push it against the handle so that the chair will hold it in place ;P

OpenStudy (13ziar):

from the outside?

OpenStudy (photon336):

Turn off your phone. you can't study when you're constantly checking Facebook, your email etc. Also, I guess for me using pen/paper rather than a computer also works better since I don't get as distracted. Find a place that's comfortable but not too conformable. for me if the place i'm studying in is too relaxed, I will just space out and not bother with anything. Some people like to study in places like cafes, etc. if you can't block out distractions in your home I would suggest going somewhere like a library or a place at school that's at a certain time you know is quiet. Set aside 1-2 hours to study uninterrupted. Study for smaller durations but keep it more focused. try to make connections between the information you're learning now and the information you've learned before. for me that's vague but explaining the info to others helps and doing problems. don't waste time. Use 30 minutes to re-read notes and see what terms/concepts you know and reinforce them. if you've done questions on a particular topic and find that you know it, move on to focus on material you don't know. Use the remaining time to practice and review newer material. For material you don't know be realistic. if you're spending too long on a concept, chances are you need it to be explained again and in a much better way. if you're completely lost then studying it further wont really help, you need to have it explained to you. this is important because it saves you much needed time. if you can find someone who can explain concept A in a much simpler easy way that results in you having to devote less time studying it on your own then that's essential. Find a particular time that you like doing work. i'm not a morning person, so doing work in the morning doesn't work for me. this will help because certain times of the day you'll just feel more like doing work than at other times.

^ i am fine with the above but i need to Lock my room so they cant get in

OpenStudy (serenity74):

No place the chair inside your room or duck tape the door to it's door frame like a couple of layers so it would be hard to get in. Or put something like orizontally long and push it against your door so it will be hard to push da door from the outside

OpenStudy (13ziar):

k thanks ^ basically i am looking for something easy whick i could quickly do and go and come back and only i can open it easily and quickly

imqwerty (imqwerty):

tbh i m in the same situation

imqwerty (imqwerty):

to be away from all distraction you gotta have gul enuf will power jst make a daily time table(i know its hard to follow time table but still try to do this and u'll improve) and then put all distractions away and there is no solution to that door problem you can lock it from inside but locking it from outside won't be successful bc if you can unlock it from outside then other people outside can also do that

OpenStudy (13ziar):

OK thanks
