need to write an equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Briana says it would be more useful to create an equation that illustrates how many charms, y, they would need for x number of bracelets in an order. Briana, Sarah, and their mother wrote the following incorrect equations. 12x+5x+5x=y. What is the correct way to write this equation from the word problem?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

I assume that the same number of charms goes on to each bracelet. If say theis is 22 charms then the equation would be y = 22x

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the total number of charms = number of charms on 1 bracelet times x
