please help me step by step with this problem (4b-4a)/(ax-bx-2a+2b)

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Hey

OpenStudy (misty1212):

if there is anything to do, it must be "factor and cancel"

OpenStudy (misty1212):

the numerator factors as \(4(b-a)\) which means the denominator probably has a factor of \(b-a\) in it

OpenStudy (misty1212):

probably "factor by grouping" or sommat \(ax-bx=(a-b)x\) for the first part, bet you can do the second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the denominator i get x(a-b)-2(a-b)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would all three (a-b) cancel?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Qwertty123

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Hello!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi can you help me understand? @Qwertty123

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@misty1212

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Oh okay I will go through the steps then... hold on

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

The top is going to be different the bottom.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yea the top is b-a, but than the bottom would be (x-2)(a-b)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and than cancel b-a and a-b with a -1

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

4b−4a _____________ ax−bx−2a+2b =?
