If the volume of a cube of wood is 15.625 cm3 and its mass is 10.00 g, show the calculation for the density of the wood.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

10.00 g / 15.625 cm^3 =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

640 kg / m3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that the answer?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

yeah, but how did you get the units to change ?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

density is the mass per unit volume

OpenStudy (anonymous):

google lol idk how to solve that i suck at math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

help me solve it please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did some research is it : 10.00 grams divided by 15.625 centimeters^3 is 0.64 grams divided by centimeter^3?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

density is the ratio of mass divided by the volume what unit of measure do you need? mass in grams or kilograms volume in cm^3 or m^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

grams and cm^3

OpenStudy (triciaal):

so it is just like the first response

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but what are the cm^3 or are they unknown?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

density means how many grams for each unit of volume. the unit of volume here is cm^3
