It is a German company which was once the height of engineering hatchbacks and small cars. they created many iconic cars. to this day VW does a lot of the engineering for non VW cars such as the Bentley Continental engine. i know that they are British but you may want to watch some BBC Top Gear episodes about VW
anything about the software thing in september
Yeah their in board emissions tester on diesel cars where rigged to give a lower reading in compliance with the law. when the actually tested it he way they test car that dont have a built in emissions tester ( like a car brethalyzer) they realized that a ll the cars gave a cosistently low reading
what all cars execpt Volkswagen have been fited with the software
No some do some dont But the one that VW built into the car was lying. thier cars are honest and the ones that don't have one get plugged into a big machine. When VW car where tested by a no biased external tester the reading did not match u because VS software lyed to make the car meet EU and American emission rules. but only for the diesel cars not the petrol ones
@Adi3: So, you've already tried Google as a way of getting more info? What did you find? You say you "need more info." To be fair to others trying to help you, tell us what you already have on hand. What particular aspect of VW the company are you interested in? VW is one of the largest auto manufacturers in the world, so you'll need to be specific about what you want to know.
@lakota1999
well the old bugs u can take the motors out and use the motor for boats, large saws, bush planes i took my 67 bug motor and made it into a generator the reason those motors are so good and u can basicly use them for any thing is bc there air cooled no radatdor at all!

For example: how did the concept of "the people's car" originate? How did the availability of a low-cost, quality car affect the average German family? What sets VW cars apart from other cars? In what ways has VW as a company grown and re-focused since its inception?

the essay is divided into 5 paragraph. 1. the intro 2. what does the company says 3. negative evidence 4. positive evidence 5. what I think
this is what all i got The Volkswagen Supervisory Board consulted intensively on the current situation at its meeting on Friday, September 25th. There is absolutely no excuse for the manipulations which have deeply shocked Volkswagen. The company will leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of this, will call those responsible to account, and take the necessary actions.
for 2nd part
It's been dubbed the "diesel dupe". In September, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) found that many VW cars being sold in America had a "defeat device" - or software - in diesel engines that could detect when they were being tested, changing the performance accordingly to improve results. For the past six years, Volkswagen has been cheating on the emissions testing for its diesel cars. The cars' computers were able to detect when they were being tested, and temporarily alter how their engines worked so they looked much cleaner than they actually were It was researchers at private labs in the United States and Germany that eventually outed Volkswagen. VW is told to recall 482,000 cars in the US after it is caught deploying sophisticated software to cheat emissions tests and let its cars produce up to 40 times more pollution than allowed.
3rd part
"My most urgent task is to win back trust for the Volkswagen Group - by leaving no stone unturned," Mr Mueller said on taking up his new post. The German car giant has since admitted cheating emissions tests in the US. VW starts showing some contrition and orders an external investigation. The then chief executive, Martin Winterkorn, says he is “deeply sorry”. VW now admits there are 11 million cars worldwide fitted with its defeat devices. Winterkorn says he is “endlessly sorry” but insists he will not resign. The US chief, Michael Horn, says the company “totally screwed up”. VW appoints Porsche chief Matthias Müller as group chief executive. The carmaker blames the scandal on a “small group” of people and says a small number have been suspended.
