OpenStudy (kpop4life123):

Which equation best represents the line? (4 points) y = 3/4 x + 4 y = 4/3 x + 4 y = 4x + 3/4 y = 4x + 4/3

OpenStudy (kpop4life123):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know what the y-intersection is?

OpenStudy (kpop4life123):

no i dont

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know what the y-axis is?

OpenStudy (kpop4life123):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which number does the line touch on the y-axis?

OpenStudy (kpop4life123):

4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Since it is positive, Part of the equation is +4. So then we have to figure out the slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whatever number is in front of the x is the slope. And if it's a single number like 2x, you'd make a fraction, 2/1.

OpenStudy (kpop4life123):

and thats where i need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it's a positive number/fraction, you go up with the first number. Like 3/4. You'd go up 3. And then the bottom is positive, so you'd move in a positive direction too. So with 3/4, you'd go to the right 4. So up 3 right 4. Do you get that?

OpenStudy (kpop4life123):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So if you go through the choices, you can eliminate whichever ones don't have +4. Then you can draw out the slopes. The second point that you draw has to be on a line, like it can't be half or anything like that. So you start at +4. Then go through the slopes and see which one looks the same.
