OpenStudy (mymakersdaughter):

I need help these roots are killing me. Find all of the roots of the equation: 3x^3+3x^2=27x ? Please explain how to do it.

hartnn (hartnn):

subtract 27x from both sides, and factor out the 3x ! tell me what u get?

OpenStudy (mymakersdaughter):

-27x+3x^3+3x^2=0 3x(-9+x+x^2)

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, x= 0 now solve -9+x+x^2 = 0 using a quadratic formula

OpenStudy (mymakersdaughter):

I got x=2.541 and x= -3.541

hartnn (hartnn):

those are correct! :)

hartnn (hartnn):

x=0, x=2.541 and x= -3.541

OpenStudy (mymakersdaughter):

Those are the roots? Yay!!!! Thanks sooooo much for your help again!!! :D <3

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, and welcome ^_^
