STILL CONFUSED ON THIS ONE A student wants to report on the number of movies her friends watch each week. The collected data are below: 2 14 1 2 0 1 0 2 Which measure of center is most appropriate for this situation and what is its value? Median; 1.5 Median; 3 Mean; 1.5 Mean; 3

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

okay so for this, they want you to find the median and the mean of the data. for the median you put all numbers in order from least to greatest then the middle number is your median.. if there are 2 middle numbers then add both middle numbers up and divide by 2.... to find the mean you add up all the numbers then divide by how many numbers there are :D hope that helped

@MysticFury Ohhh i see.. i got 2.75 and thats closer to 3 so it is B?

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

i would say yes it would be 3 since they probably want the approximate number... they also said decide whether the mean or median would be better to use.. which do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MysticFury i don't really know

https://statistics.laerd.com/statistical-guides/measures-central-tendency-mean-mode-median.php this might help you understand mean and median better :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MysticFury probably use median

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MysticFury should I go with B?
