You will receive a medal for checking my answer.

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

@jhonyy9

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

the base appears to be a pentagon.

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Hmm im actually unsure about this. Maybe @dan815 @Mehek14 or @pooja195 can help you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um im confused did you answer the question cause if you did it looks correct

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

@jhonyy9 what do you think?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

5*17*18,2/2 + area of penthagon - right ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

area penthagon = 5*17*11,7/2 you have solved it in this way ?

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

no

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

773,5 +497,25 = 1270,75

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

I used the wrong formula.

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

there are 5 triangles in the upper portion and 5 in the lower portion as well , u need to do according to the diagram

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@shaleiah so now this is clearly to you ?

OpenStudy (shaleiah):

Yes, @jhonyy9 method is correct. I would have to use the area of a pentagon formula instead of the area of a triangle formula.

OpenStudy (math&ing001):

Actually both are correct, but since they're pointing 11.7, they want you to use triangles. You'll get the same result though.
