OpenStudy (annie12m):

Can someone teach me how to write decimals into fractions?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

The basic idea is that all decimals can be written as a fraction even the whole numbers like 2 as 2/1

OpenStudy (annie12m):

i just want to know how to do it

OpenStudy (aravindg):

So if we need to convert 2.5 into fraction first write 2.5 as 2.5/1 Multiply numr abd denomr by 2 2.5*2/1*2=5/2

@Zombitar90967 @truwhovian11 @ScarlettFarra2000 @retirEEd @F_Jayyy @alibaby

For another example, convert 0.625 to a fraction. Multiply 0.625/1 by 1000/1000 to get 625/1000. Reducing we get 5/8.

OpenStudy (annie12m):

oh ok ty alibaby

OpenStudy (aravindg):

okay cool. What a nice behavior!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the thing is @AravindG explained better then i did but im guessing he put it in a perspective u didnt understand?

OpenStudy (annie12m):

ya i didnt understand what @AravindG said but i understood what you said and @alibaby is this correct? im trying to convert 0.25 into a fraction and this is what i did, i put it into a fraction as 0.25/1 then i multiplied 0.25/1 by 1000/1000 to get 250/1000 and now i just need to simplify to get my answer?

OpenStudy (annie12m):

and i simplified it down to 1/4?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

But is that the proper way to act to someone who spends some of their time to just help with your question? You acted like I wasn't present here @annie12m. That said I am leaving this question for good.

OpenStudy (annie12m):

sorry i just didnt understand how you said it
