How did Karl Marx have impact on the Industrial Revolution?

Marx was one of the first to realise this and to make a philosophy about what the results of it might be. Although Socialism is a discredited system, it is actually used in almost every advanced country in an impure form. Workers organise into unions to lobby for their rights. Much of this might have happened without Marx, but he provided a model.
