Line A is 3/9. The point (10,y) also lies on line A. What does y stand for?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Line A is 3/9 ... ? Please clarify what you mean. "3/9" is not an appropriate designation for a line.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope vertical change/ horizontal change

I'm still wondering where that "3/9" came from. This does not designate a point. The question states, "The point (10,y) also lies on the line." This says to me that "3/9", in a different format, represents a 2nd point on the line.

How about: "Point (3,9) lies on line A. Point (10,y) also lies on line A. What does y represent?
