I'm not asking for someone to write this, I just need help with topics for this essay. Write a 1500-word historical investigation report. Use exposition, narration, description, argumentation or some combination writing to support the main proposition.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Who are you "investigating" from History?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or what are you investigating

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any. This is all the information that they gave me: Analyze several historical records of a single event, examining critical relationships between elements of the research topic. Explain the similarities and differences in historical records with information derived from primary and secondary sources. Examine the validity and reliability of your sources. Include parenthetical citations and a works cited page. Using proper research and note-taking techniques (see the "Listening for Information" lesson), compile information about the historical investigation topic of your choice.

I just don't really know what topic I could use. or how to talk about it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1,500 words is a piece of cake. First, pick a topic that is popular and well-researched. You're more likely to find more sources on a popular subject. Second, pick one that is interesting to you. If you like it, you'll write more about it. Third, plan to write twice the requirement. Use more sources than you planned, write more than is expected. It's much easier to pare down than add to. Lastly, make the first sentence of each paragraph a summary statement for the entire paragraph. Spend the rest of the paragraph explaining the first statement. This way, your paper will be organized well, each paragraph or section will reflect a nice outline of your talking points, and making a summary statement first gives you a lot of things to have to elucidate in the following sentences. You'll be out of room in no time.

A good historical suggestion would be the San Fransico earthquake of 1989

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are plenty of resources. Especially photographs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Say I did write about the earthquake, what would I generally write about for the questions above?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@KasaCiara

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mainly, just research the events of what happened. Use different resources to get better answers and better point of veiws

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. well, thank you for the help! I appreciate it!

No problem.
