OpenStudy (ohmath123):

Jim, Bob, Mike and Carlos are taking a road trip. At the first gas stop Jim pays $17 for gas. At the second gas stop Bob pays $14 for gas. At the third stop Mike pays $10. Finally at the end of the trip, Carlos buys $19 worth of gas. Now it’s time to settle up. If they are fair about sharing expenses, who owes money to whom? So the total amount of gas spent was $60. so to fair that means they each had to pay $15. But does that mean the one who paid $19 gives a dollar to the one who paid $14? HELP?

OpenStudy (ohmath123):

can bob borrow money from carlos?

OpenStudy (retireed):

The two guys that paid less in gas owe the two that paid more in gas.

OpenStudy (retireed):

Mike owes $4 to Carlos and $1 to Jim. Also, Bob owes $1 to who?
