I got strep throat and my doctor gave me medicine(that tastes HORRIBLE) so how long until it goes away.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner I was busy but have you seen a doctor? If it is preventing all of this you will need more medically than just over the counter. (Is it prescription?) If it is prescription than maybe you are allergic to something withing the medicine or maybe your body is rejecting it I cannot be sure without conducting and exam myself.

As far as spreading it goes make sure that you use tissues you can throw away instead of handkerchiefs, wash your hands often, and do not sneeze or cough on others. Antibiotics will shorten the time that you are contagious hope it helps!

Also another thing is that strep throat is only passed by saliva and direct contact. If you avoid these you will be fine. It cannot be passed through the air.
