Because he created half of the language we used today and shaped our everyday stories, writing styles and everything. Did you know even Disney steals his ideas? The Lion King is exactly like Hamlet, except Mufasa's wife, Serabi doesn't get killed, and Simba lives in the end. That's it... Everything around us is basically because of him...at least entertainment and language wise.
